What this covers
Coinbramble is a phone app for keeping a weekly budget. This page explains what the app collects when you use it, why it collects it, and what you can do about it. It covers the app and this website, and nothing else. If you have a question this page doesn’t answer, write to us and ask.
What we collect
Three things. Your account details, which are the email address you sign up with and the name you choose to show to other people on your budget. Your budget data, which is the receipts you photograph, the amounts and categories you give them, and the budgets you set. And basic technical information your phone sends when the app talks to us, which is the app version, the operating system version, and the time of the request.
We do not ask for your bank login, and the app does not connect to your bank. Every amount in Coinbramble is one you or someone on your budget entered or photographed.
Receipt photos
A receipt photo is the most personal thing in the app, so it gets its own paragraph. The photo is stored so you can look at it again later, and so you can check what you typed against it. Coinbramble does not read the amount off the photo — you enter it yourself, which is the limit stated on the Product page. It is kept for as long as your plan keeps receipt photos, which is stated on the pricing page for each plan. You can delete any single receipt from inside the app, and deleting it removes the photo as well as the amount.
Why we collect it
To run the app: to show you your week, to add up your budget, and to keep your data in sync between your phone and anyone you share a budget with. To answer you when you contact us. And to fix things that break, which sometimes means looking at the technical information above to work out why a particular version failed.
Who else sees it
The people you share a budget with see the receipts, amounts and categories on that shared budget. That is the point of a shared budget, and it is worth knowing before you add someone to one. Beyond that, the companies that run our servers and send our email can process your data in order to provide those services to us, under contract. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
Your budget data stays until you delete it or close your account. Receipt photos follow the period for your plan. When you close your account we delete your account details and your budget data, which can take up to 30 days to work through our backups. Anything we are required to keep for accounting we keep separately, and only that.
What you can decide
You can see and export your budget data from inside the app at any time. You can correct your account details in Settings. You can delete individual receipts, or close your account, which deletes the rest. You can turn off notifications without losing anything. If you want us to do any of this for you instead, ask, and we will.
Children
Coinbramble is not built for children, and we do not knowingly collect data from a child. If you think a child has an account, tell us and we will remove it.
Changes to this page
When we change how the app handles your data, we change this page and update the date at the top. If the change is a significant one, we will say so in the app rather than leaving you to notice.
